It had been 16 years since I had been back to my hometown. We actually moved there when my brother and I were in 5th grade and graduated high school from Fairport, then moved back to Ohio that summer. I call it my hometown though because that is where all of my early memories are from. Our 20 year reunion was this year – geez I am old! It was so great to be back – reconnected via Facebook with my best friend before we went. We lived right next door to each other growing up and her parents are still in that house so we got to see our old house, did the wineries at Keuka Lake-spent lots of time in the summer at my friend, Leslie’s, cottage on the lake. We went down to the Village of Fairport – they are one of the few canal towns that have a bridge that still lifts vertically so let boats pass through so got a few pictures of that happening. It was weird how so much has changed but I still remembered how to get places. I worked at Orange Julius in high school at the local mall – it is now the most awesome mall – it has all the great stores in it plus nice restaurants attached – reminds me of Kenwood in Cincinnati. I didn’t realize how much I missed the entire area until I was back. Great memories and hope to go back with kids sometime – they would love to see it – there is so much to do there! You will see that my brother joined us since we are twins and he graduated with me – lots of my friends forget that fact – and we were silly, just like in the good old days – Leslie – thank you – it wouldn’t have been nearly as enjoyable without you hanging out with us the whole weekend!

Morgan’s 1st Pedicure
We took Morgan for her 1st pedicure at The Greene today. It was a belated birthday gift to her – she couldn’t hold still for the parts that tickled! Nanny Cherry and Nanny Bubbles joined in the fun!
1st day of school!
I can’t believe it – summer is over and and Bradley starts his first year of school – a young 5’s program that Centerville has for the late summer birthdays. I wasn’t sure how he would do on the bus but he looked so proud and then gave us his tiny little wave-had that tight feeling in my throat and my eyes watered a bit but no real tears! I was brave! Morgan started 3rd grade so they are at 2 different schools. We have one that is Kindergarten and 1st grad only – Primary Village South, and then Cline Elementary which is 2-5.

Morgan’s 9th Birthday
We had a special meal for Morgan on her birthday and followed it with presents. Nanny Bubbles was in town for the week for kid’s birthdays and to watch the kids when Kirk and I went to my reunion. She came with a bunch of presents including lots of clothes for Morgan so she put on a fashion show for us!

Pirate Party
Had to have the kids party a little early because they were camping one weekend and my high school reunion was the following weekend. They are still at an age where I can have combined parties – Morgan Aug 23 and Bradley Aug 24, however the themes are getting harder. May be the last year for a theme party that works for both kids. We had fun, played games and had kids ranging from 9 months – 12 yrs old. I made the cake/cupcakes and we had a treasure hunt in the rain-it poured that day!
