A very good friend had a special birthday recently (mum’s the word on age!) so several of us went out to dinner at Brio’s and got pedicures afterward. The area we were in also had a Cheesecake Factory, and after we learned that Amy had NEVER had cheesecake from there we decided we had to go there and split a piece for dessert – dulce de leche caramel cheesecake –yum!

Boy attacked by hair pretties
I think it happens to all boys who have a big sister at some point in their early years – they become a hair challenge – Have to say, Ryan only said “ow” a few times and looks like he was due for a haircut to get the sie of pony’s going on in his head (which he got about 3 days later). I must say, he wears it well!

In Good Times and In Bad
Some of you read this on my Facebook page but a brief summary for you: We started out with a group of 13 of us for our friend’s birthday and we had a limbous that was going to take us to multiple destinations – our friend had a night of friendly competition including trivia, a stop at a driving range, softball competition of some sort, pool at a local bar by UD – anyhow it was going to be a blast. However, after the first stop and on the way to the driving range, a car was being chased by the police – actually a national manhunt for a man that had killed his stepson and taken off with his 7 yr old son – luckily when this all happened, his son was not with him. The first shot is us at our first stop – then, you will see the bad guy’s car flipped. He hit a car that flipped him and that car went into the side of our limobus and you will see all of the gasoline that spilled out of it. Crazy as it is, we all feel thankful that it hit our big bus, probably left much less injuries to any other car that this could’ve hit – and minus the HUGE black eye my friend in the pretty green shirt below got – she thinks her husband came across the table and hit her with his head- we were all very lucky!

Centerville Americana Festival and my birthday!
Today is my birthday and I share it with my twin brother in case you didn’t know I had one. We live in Centerville and they decided to do ALL of the celebration on Monday, kinda strange. We went to the parade with our neighbors, and a family we met through them, along with my long-time family friend Aaron and his wife and son. We had a great time although in was INCREDIBLY hot and crowded! We ended up at my mom’s later that evening to grill out and celebrate our birthdays! (
My twin brother, Kevin with me and my mom(he thought his Minnesota Twins shirt would be a good choice b/c of the patriotic colors and the fact that it said Twins for our birthday- he IS a dork!)

4th of July 2010
We gathered at our old neighborhood in Beavercreek b/c they have a great view of the fireworks from there – no need to fight traffic. Our friends, The Greening’s were so kind to host it and they have a great pool. The kids were in it all evening! All of us are in a Euchre group that gets together once a month so it was nice to have the kids play together this time! The whole gang!
We were the only ones really dressed patriotic(guess we are nerds!) so we thought we deserved a picure!

My dear husband surprised me with a birthday cake at the party – so nice of him! Totally unexpected! (birthday is the 5th but my mom always gets a cake so it was nice of him to order it, have it picked up by my friend and have it be a surprise)

Welcome our niece, Sloane Hartley Pabst
Our little niece was born on July 3rd – Jenny was due to have a c-section on July 7th but this little girl came earlier. She’s beautiful and weighed in at 9lbs 8oz(sorry Jenny if I am off a few ounces but I think that might be right!) Lots of dark hair at the moment! I met them at the hospital in KY to pick up our 15 old nephew and kept him at our house for the day. When we returned him back to the hospital to mom and dad, we got to meet her! Nice work Jenny and Josh!

Ryan’s Big Boy Room
Well, we got the crib out of Ryan’s room. Kirk said after he disassembled it, “oh, we should’ve taken a picture of it in case we want to put it on craigs list”. He thinks I am crazy but this is one sentimental piece of furniture to me – I don’t get sentimental about furniture but all my babies slept in it. It was sad to see it taken down for the last time – maybe our grandbabies will use it, but exciting to get him in his big bed. This was Bradley’s car bed and he now has a set of bunk beds in his room. Will post pictures on his room at another time.
